Torture?

Medal of Honor recipient Bud Day Speaks of Torture

n jail...as was John McCain...and we agree that McCain does
not speak for the POW group when he claims that Al Gharib was
torture...or that "water boarding" is torture.

Our president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing
our great country are a disgrace to the United States . I hope Sean Hannity. He uses this to point out the stupidity of the claims that water boarding...which has no after effect...is torture.

If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC ... hurrah for the guy who poured the water.

Curmudgeonly & Skeptical

Curmudgeonly & Skeptical
A crusty old Marine Sergeant Major found himself at a gala event hosted by a local liberal arts college. There was no shortage of extremely young idealistic ladies in attendance, one of whom approached the Sergeant Major for conversation.

'Excuse me, sir, but you seem to be a very serious man. Is something bothering you?'
'Negative, ma'am. Just serious by nature.'

The young lady looked at his awards and decorations and said, 'It looks like you have seen a lot of action.'
'Yes, ma'am, a lot of action.'

The young lady, tiring of trying to start up a conversation, said, 'You know, you should lighten up a little. Relax and enjoy yourself.'
The Sergeant Major just stared at her in his serious manner.

Finally the young lady said, 'You know, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but when is the last time you had sex?
"1955, ma'am."

"Well, there you are. No wonder you're so serious. You really need to chill out! I mean, no sex since 1955!"
She took his hand and led him to a private room where she proceeded to 'relax' him several times. Afterwards, panting for breath, she leaned against his bare chest and said, 'Wow, you sure didn't forget much since 1955.'

The Sergeant Major said in his serious voice, after glancing at his watch, 'I hope not; It's only 2130 now.'

The Oil Drum | Shale Gas Estimates Perhaps Optimistic - An Interesting and Worrying Talk at ASPO

The Oil Drum | Shale Gas Estimates Perhaps Optimistic - An Interesting and Worrying Talk at ASPO: "Shale Gas Estimates Perhaps Optimistic"

the U.S. today consumes about 63 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day - in energy BTU equivalency terms, that’s 10.5 million barrels of oil per day, or about half of the amount of oil that the U.S. consumes each day. Of that 63 bcf per day of natural gas consumption, we import about 1 bcf in the form of liquefied natural gas, or LNG, and we import about 8 bcf per day from Canada. This means that we are about 98.5% self-reliant on natural gas supply from North America and about 86% self-reliant on natural gas supply from the U.S. Contrast that with oil, where we are only about 41% North American self-reliant and only about 27% self-reliant from U.S. sources.

VIX Definition - What is VIX?

VIX Definition - What is VIX?

VIX is the CBOE Volatility Index, created by the Chicago Board Options Exchange as a measure of equity market volatility. The VIX was introduced in January 1986. Since January 1993, the VIX has been computed in real time throughout the trading day. The computation of the value of VIX is based on the implied volatility of eight option series on the S&P 100 index, or OEX. The VIX is quoted in percentage points per annum. For instance, a VIX value of 19.28 represents an annualized implied volatility of 19.28%. The VIX is sometimes called the investor fear index, since investor uncertainty can lead to high market volatility through drops in prices, such as happened on Black Monday in 1987. Options are traded on the VIX, enabling additional hedging and speculation positions on volatility. Closely related to the VIX are the VXD, or CBOE Dow Jones Industrial Average Volatility Index, and the VXN, or CBOE NASDAQ 100 Volatility Index.

LIBOR Definition - What is LIBOR?

LIBOR Definition - What is LIBOR?

LIBOR stands for London Interbank Offered Rate. The British Bankers’ Association calculates LIBOR in an open manner each business day. LIBOR rates are generally released around 11am London time. Many LIBOR rates exist, for various multiple short-term periods in a number of currencies. For example, each day LIBOR rates are released, there is a 1 week Japanese Yen LIBOR rate, a 1 month US dollar LIBOR rate, and 6 month Euro LIBOR rate. LIBOR is the primary benchmark for interest rates around the world. Interest rate contracts traded on many exchanges around the world, such as the Chicago Board of Trade, settle based on LIBOR. LIBOR affects consumers, too, as LIBOR is often used as a benchmark for ARMs and other credit products.

Joint Will Definition - What is Joint Will?

Joint Will Definition - What is Joint Will?

A joint will is a type of legal agreement, in which property is distributed according to a will without the right to survivorship. According to a joint will agreement, the distribution of assets is predetermined by a joint will regardless of who dies first. A joint will is common among married couples, though legally a joint will can apply to any two people who intend to become each other’s beneficiaries according to a stipulated will. Like other legal contracts, a joint will has its benefits and drawbacks. On the plus side, a joint will prevents the surviving person from using the estate in ways that contradict the terms of the joint will contract. Thus for example, should the surviving spouse decide to remarry, a joint will contract may block him or her from granting the estate to the new spouse or stepchildren. A negative of a joint will is its constricting nature and inability to accommodate changing life circumstances.

Lame Cherry: The English Language Program

Lame Cherry: The English Language Program

The English Language Program

For 13 months between 1967 and 1968, a Caucasian with a latino accent was in North Vietnam, at a place termed The Zoo.

He was joined by two other hispanics in what was overtly termed, "The English Language Program" to teach North Vietnamese communist guards in prison torture camps how to speak English.

No one knows for certain who these three animals were, but were nicknamed Fidel, Chico and Pancho who joined with a North Vietnamese officer named, The Lump, due to a large tumor on his forehead.

For 13 months, 19 American Heroes were isolated and brought into a program of advanced torture which went beyond the normal communist Vietnamese methods of tying the arms behind the back and legs with ropes, pulling them until the joints popped loose, bouncing them from a hook on the ceiling and beating the snot out of them, as John McCain endured.

Fidel would enact a Manchurian candidate psychological warfare program on these 19 Americans in demanding these men "surrender" to him. This psychotic was operating under full knowledge of the North Vietnamese, Cubans and therefore Moscow.
Fidel would demand that he would not be "cheated" in the Heroes not obeying his every command. It was ritual in mind control with the advent of the Soldiers were ordered to carve little objects to give to the Vietnamese people to prove they were sorry for their "crimes".

United States Air Force Major Earl Cobeil was beaten so savagely that he was incoherent. It was then that Major Cobeil began the tortuous last days of his life as Fidel demanded to be bowed to, but Cobeil who was completely incapacitated mentally would refuse.
To this Fidel would personally whip the Major with a whip made from a truck tire, until his skin was shredded from his back and legs.
The Heroes would force a stick into the Major's mouth to shove food down his throat to keep him alive.
Major Cobeil would be knocked down 20 to 40 times by brute force in a torture session which he was not even aware the reason for.
At the end of the English Language Program, Major Cobeil, disappeared into North Vietnam beaten to death.

The Cuban Connection into Vietnam was precise. Fidel Castro had armed troops murdering American Soldiers and allied Fighters in Laos.

It was believed the Cubans created a program where Americans would be so punished, that they would recite communist text on cue, be exported to a communist "trial" symposium for war crimes by Americans, about to be held in Cuba, as the propaganda event of the century.

There are thousands of still missing Americans from Southeast Asia, and while the door has been shut on the Moscow connection of imported American Servicemen, escapees from Cuba have spoken of American Soldiers who arrived there and were under Castro's brutal torture programs.

It is thought that Fidel was Fernando Vecino Alegret, a Cuban communist, but the reality is no one is certain.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read. This is one paragraph that should be in every book in every school room in every city in every state in our great Union ... Our educators should make a lesson plan on this one statement and instill these words in the minds of all students.

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation..

5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Interview with Sadad al Husseini: Part 2—“A lot of Money = a Little Oil” | Energy Bulletin

Interview with Sadad al Husseini: Part 2—“A lot of Money = a Little Oil” | Energy Bulletin

Question: In the past you’ve mentioned that world oil reserves are overstated by as much as 300 billion barrels.

Sadad: It’s very important to adhere to proper reserve definitions when we’re talking about oil. Oil is money in the bank. If you are very loose in terms of how you define it, you can go off and make assumptions that are unsustainable. The current numbers published—I call them “declared reserves”—are something like 1,200 billion barrels. On top of that there are another 150 billion of extra-heavy crudes and 150 billion Canadian type of bitumens. So that would lead you to believe that we have roughly 1,500 billion barrels of proven oil reserves. In fact, those are hardly proven. There is a lot of speculation. If we go back to the SEC type of definitions, that number drops way back, maybe down to 900 billion. I think it’s important to be precise about the definitions if not the actual estimates, because that’s the only way we can decide how much can be delivered on a timely basis. So yes, I think I would say 900 billion proven, perhaps 1,200 billion probable and potential. But that’s about the limit.

Tycho Brahe

Tycho Brahe isn't as famous as Galileo or Copernicus, but in some circles he's considered the father of modern astronomy. He spent much of his life compiling the world's first truly accurate and complete set of astronomical tables -- all before the invention of the telescope. Brahe's assistant, Johannes Kepler, later used the tables to deduce the laws of planetary motion. In 1628 Kepler published the Rudolphine Tables, a list of remarkably accurate logarithmic astronomical tables based on Brahe's observations and Kepler's subsequent analysis.

In 1566 Brahe lost most of his nose in a duel, and wore a metal replacement the rest of his life.

Anti-Mullah

Anti-Mullah

Fredrick Bastat

If you haven't read or listened to it, you must must must must must. Maybe I am late to the game on this... but it is stunning in its verbal and moral clarity. And it was written by a french dude, Frederic Bastiat. And it was published, in the year of his death... in 1850. Eighteen. Fifty. And it could have been written this year and been just as relevant. It's only like 60 pages, and the free MP3's add up to two hours listening. Great for your commute.

A country full of people familiar with this work would resist socialism like an immovable object. It ought to be required reading by 8th grade. And again by 12th grade.

In private schools, of course ;-)

Please encourage others to read or listen.

The Worst Form of Badness

October 9, 2009

I want you to tell you something big, plain and straight. Salvation is not a reward for the righteous. It is a gift for the guilty.

Many come to church and perhaps say, “You know, I need to change my way of living. I am going to change my lifestyle. I want to be right with God.” And so they begin to reform themselves.

I‘ve often wondered what a church full of Pharisees would be like. Number One, they would be the most faithful attendees. Number Two, all of them would tithe. Number Three, they would live outwardly clean, pure, moral lives. Number Four, they would be very busy doing church work. Sounds like a good church, doesn’t it?

Oh, did I forget to mention Number Five? They would all be going to hell. Why? Because they are ignorant of God’s righteous. They attempt to establish their own righteousness and have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

The worst form of badness is human goodness when human goodness becomes a substitute for the new birth.

Delftsman: A Well-Planned Retirement

Delftsman: A Well-Planned Retirement: "A Well-Planned Retirement

From The London Times:

Outside England 's Bristol Zoo there is a parking lot
for 150 cars and 8 buses. For 25 years, its
parking fees were managed by a very pleasant
attendant. The fees were 1 for cars ($1.40),
5 for busses (about $7).

Then, one day, after 25 solid years of never missing
a day of work, he just didn't show up; so the Zoo
Management called the City Council and asked it
to send them another parking agent.

The Council did some research and replied that the
parking lot was the Zoo's own responsibility.
The Zoo advised the Council that the attendant was
a City employee.
The City Council responded that the lot attendant
had never been on the City payroll.

Meanwhile, sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain

(or some such scenario), is a man who'd apparently had a
ticket machine installed completely on his own; and then
had simply begun to show up every day, commencing
to collect and keep the parking fees, estimated at about
$560 per day -- for 25 years.
Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over
$7 million dollars!

......

And no one even knows his name."

The Skeptical Optimist

The Skeptical Optimist: "Harvard Law Prof. Charles Ogletree told how Mr. Obama spoke on one contentious issue at the law school, and each side thought he was endorsing their view. Mr. Ogletree said: 'Everyone was nodding, Oh, he agrees with me.'

The reason I have never forgotten this article is its last sentence, in which Al Gore's former chief of staff Ron Klain, also of Harvard Law, reflects on the Obama sensation: 'The interesting caveat is that is a style of leadership more effective running a law review than running a country.'"

A bear walks into a bar in Billings , Montana and sits down. He bangs on the bar with his paw and demands a beer.

The bartender approaches and says, ‘We don’t serve beer to bears in bars in Billings ‘

The bear, becoming angry, demands again that he be served a beer.

The bartender tells him again, more forcefully, ‘We don’t serve beer to belligerent bears in bars in Billings ..’

The bear, very angry now, says, ‘If you don’t serve me a beer, I’m going to eat that lady sitting at the end of the bar.’

The bartender says, ‘Sorry, we don’t serve beer to belligerent, bully bears in bars in Billings ‘

The bear goes to the end of the bar, and, as promised, eats the woman. He comes back to his seat and again demands a beer.

The bartender states, ‘Sorry, but we especially don’t serve beer to belligerent, bully bears in bars in Billings who are on drugs.’

The bear looks at him quizzically and says, ‘I’m not on drugs.’

VDH's Private Papers::Sleeping Through Speeches

VDH's Private Papers::Sleeping Through Speeches

While Obama was praising the U.N., the U.N. was showing America why most of us don’t want much to do with it. The Gaddafi and Ahmadinejad rambling hate-filled speeches were lunatic and nutty; but, remember, they are typical, not unrepresentative of the sort of leaders that the world outside the West so often produces these days. A Chavez, Kim Jong Il, Assad, or Mullah Omar would say about the same. Why would Obama wish to brag of returning to the human rights council given the creepy regimes on it? Watching the U.N. watch Ahmadinejad, I was reminded of Europe circa July 1941. As Hitler swept through Russia, suddenly a Spain, a Sweden, a Turkey, a Romania, a Hungary, etc. as both Axis allies and as neutrals, all in varying ways were horse-trading with Nazi Germany for various trade deals, land grabs, and general profiteering. That the Wehrmacht slaughtered Jews by the thousands the day it entered Russia, mattered not at all; the Nazis looked like winners and it was time to cut deals. By 1944/5, the opposite was true: neutrals and formal allies were bailing and claiming they had been coerced, duped, had no choices, and were now our friends if not allies, after all. Take away oil, and Ahmadinejad and Gaddafi would be written off as two-bit psychopaths that no legitimate body would let in the service entrance.

Well, the neighborhood bully, he's just one man,
His enemies say he's on their land.
They got him outnumbered about a million to one,
He got no place to escape to, no place to run.
He's the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully just lives to survive,
He's criticized and condemned for being alive.
He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin,
He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in.
He's the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully been driven out of every land,
He's wandered the earth an exiled man.
Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn,
He's always on trial for just being born.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he knocked out a lynch mob, he was criticized,
Old women condemned him, said he should apologize.
Then he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad.
The bombs were meant for him.
He was supposed to feel bad.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, the chances are against it and the odds are slim
That he'll live by the rules that the world makes for him,
'Cause there's a noose at his neck and a gun at his back
And a license to kill him is given out to every maniac.
He's the neighborhood bully.

He got no allies to really speak of.
What he gets he must pay for, he don't get it out of love.
He buys obsolete weapons and he won't be denied
But no one sends flesh and blood to fight by his side.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he's surrounded by pacifists who all want peace,
They pray for it nightly that the bloodshed must cease.
Now, they wouldn't hurt a fly.
To hurt one they would weep.
They lay and they wait for this bully to fall asleep.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Every empire that's enslaved him is gone,
Egypt and Rome, even the great Babylon.
He's made a garden of paradise in the desert sand,
In bed with nobody, under no one's command.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Now his holiest books have been trampled upon,
No contract he signed was worth what it was written on.
He took the crumbs of the world and he turned it into wealth,
Took sickness and disease and he turned it into health.
He's the neighborhood bully.

What's anybody indebted to him for?
Nothin', they say.
He just likes to cause war.
Pride and prejudice and superstition indeed,
They wait for this bully like a dog waits to feed.
He's the neighborhood bully.

What has he done to wear so many scars?
Does he change the course of rivers?
Does he pollute the moon and stars?
Neighborhood bully, standing on the hill,
Running out the clock, time standing still,
Neighborhood bully.

"An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself... Mostly Cajun, All American and Opinionated Joe Wilson

Yeah, THAT Joe Wilson, the one who called Obama a liar. Even the republican “leadership” was shocked.

Kind of speaks volumes about republican “leaders”.

What about “decorum”? Who was talking about decorum a few years back when the story about the kiting of checks from the congressional post office? Or when Barney Frank’s weiner du jour was running a gay prostitution ring out of their joint (heh) apartment? Or when the besainted Teddy Kennedy and Chris Dodd made the waitress sandwich? To ascribe ANY amount of “decorum” to congress is akin to gift-wrapping a bag of dogshit.

Our Imperial Congress, both sides, regularly meets and acts like they’re playing games. They have quaint little rules and traditions that they wrap themselves in to differentiate themselves from us hoi polloi. And at the end of the day, they go away, having put forth changes that affect MY daily life.

60-Second Science Blog Directory: Scientific American Blog: "At least some members of the Obama Administration plan to call for an end to fossil fuel subsidies as part of next week's G20 economic leaders summit, citing positive impacts ranging from improved energy security to combating climate change. But how much does the U.S. government pay? Well, according to a new analysis from the Environmental Law Institute released today, roughly $72 billion between 2002 and 2008.

More than $54 billion of that was in the form of 23 different tax credits for oil, coal and natural gas producers, including those overseas, most of which are permanent provisions of the U.S. Tax Code. Just $18.3 billion was grants and other direct cash for research and development and other pursuits, such as the Strategic Petroleum Reserve."

Liberal Rapture

Liberal Rapture
The persistence of the illusion that economists know anything is astonishing. Tuesday Mr. Bernanke, who apparently couldn't be bothered to warn anyone of the coming collapse last fall, said the economic recession is over.

Phew! That wasn't so bad. Bailout the banks by forcing a nation into decades of debt, print piles of cash and BANG! It's over! Whoo hoo!

Here's the dirty little secret Bernanke and his crew avoid: When they say the recession is over - they mean it's over FOR THEM.

Liberal Rapture

Liberal Rapture: "The use of the word 'racist' has been so warped and abused since BHO came on the scene that soon it will be synonymous with being called:

*a patriot,
*a person of integrity
*a courageous American
*a person willing to speak truth to power,
*a person who refuses to be controlled and talked down to.

So go ahead - call me racist."

Doctors Vs Guns

Doctors
(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is around 700,000..
(B) Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 17.1%.
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services.

Guns
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.
(C) Accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.00188%.
Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember,
'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

FACT:
NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,
BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.
We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

*** Out of concern for the public at large,
I withheld the statistics on lawyers
for fear the shock would cause people to panic
and seek medical attention!

The Kirk Report Blog Archive 7 Questions

The Kirk Report Blog Archive 7 Questions

Q: On four different trades over the last month, I was in ahead of the crowd and in great position, only to lose confidence, get out at a loss, and then watch the things go up. I am scared now to trade and I need to take steps to boost my confidence. Will you consider this and make suggestions? Thank you so much.

A: You need to first take a detailed look at your stop loss strategy. When I hear these things, typically (but not always) it is because stops are set to tight and/or you’re trading extremely volatile positions. I would take the last 50 trades you made and were stopped out at loss in order to determine whether the stop strategy you are using (like one based on average true range) was effective. In addition, if you’re not using a consistent stop strategy in this regard (i.e. you are getting stopping out when you “feel like it or when it “looks good”) you need to start incorporating one right now. Being consistent here is important and will help improve your consistency overall.

As for your level of confidence, remember there’s no room for perfection in trading. Mistakes will be made and you will get stopped and chopped on good positions routinely if you’re doing a good job of managing your risk. After evaluating your stop loss strategy, I’d also look closely into how you position size and whether you are using any “scale-in” techniques. Both are integral parts of the process here.

Finally, the best way to restore confidence is moving onto the next trade once you taken time to fully analyze what has happened with your stop outs and you have established confidence in the exit strategy you use even with the whipsaws that are likely to continue to occur. If your methods are sound, four bad trades shouldn’t rattle your confidence unless they’re the only four trades you’ve made and the exit strategy is faulty by design.

I'll bet his answer was the same as yours: 51%. But, of course, that's wrong. The correct answer is that there is no correct answer. You could be right 1% of the time and be filthy rich. How? Let's say I did 100 trades last year, and won once. However, that winner netted me a 200% gain. The 99 losers? I cashed out each for a 1% loss. See the interplay between win rate and gain per trade?"

Even small percentage gains per day add up to big gains over time. I asked one of the students if he started with $5,000 and every trading day increased it only 0.5%, how much he'd have after five years. He guessed about $50,000. The answer is $3 million."

John Fund Interviews David Walker: The Deficits Are Coming! - WSJ.com: "'Our $56 trillion in unfunded obligations amount to $483,000 per household. That's 10 times the median household income—so it's as if everyone had a second or third mortgage on a house equal to 10 times their income but no house they can lay claim to.' As for this year's likely deficit of $1.8 trillion, Mr. Walker suggests its size be conveyed thusly: 'A deficit that large is $3.4 million a minute, $200 million an hour, $5 billion a day,' he says. That does indeed put things into perspective."

The Oil Drum | 150 Years of Plenitude: The Story of Oil

Standard Oil Breakup

n 1911, Standard Oil was split by anti-monopoly legislation into several competing firms. Esso (“S. O.” for Standard Oil), which later became Exxon, remains the most well known of the Standard Oil children.

That just barely scratches the surface. In addition to Std. Oil of NJ (=ESSO, =Exxon), you had:

Std. Oil of NY (=SOCONY, +Vacuum = SOCONY Vacuum, =SOCONY Mobil, =Mobil)

Std Oil of Ohio (=SOHIO, merged with BP)

Std Oil of Indiana (=AMOCO, merged with BP)

Std Oil of Calif. (=SoCal, =Chevron)

Atlatic (+ Richfield = Atlantic Richfield, =ARCO)

Continental Oil Co (=CONOCO)

Ohio Oil Co (=Marathon)

South Penn Oil Co (=Pennzoil)

This is by no means a complete list, there were many other smaller units that were eventually absorbed by larger companies, mostly one of the above. For a more complete list, see The Wikipedia article.

Lame Cherry

Lame Cherry: "people are stunned when I make known that the Jamestown and Plymouth colonies had in their charters the main aspect of evangelizing in order to save the Indians by bringing the Gospel of Christ to them."

There are two dates in history which are tied interestingly together by Christians and both had in the foremost parts of their minds were the ultimate of Christian acts. The years were 1429 and 1492, rather easy to remember and monumental in what happened then.

The first date of 1429 rests up on Jeanette D'Arc the anointed of France. In her first decree as General of the Armies of France, she dispatched a letter to English and her King. In the letter, General D'Arc, asked the English to vacate France and not fight.
Joan of Arc as the English would call her then stated, the French and English should join forces in peace and go on crusade to liberate Jerusalem from Muslim control.

Most interesting is it not that the Lady was pondering the real issue in this life and that was the liberation of Jerusalem.

The second date, 1492, should be more familiar in it belongs to that noble Christian, Christopher Columbus, the Viceroy of all the western world, who sailed west to reach the east, because the Bible stated God sat on the circle of the earth.
Faith is what Columbus was driven by.
In the personal logs of Viceroy Columbus there is a most interesting account of what he was really up to that has been hidden from history by satan.

Christopher Columbus was sailing to the orient not for riches for himself. Now the liars of satan who have impugned this noble gentleman's actions in thinking Indians of the Americas were some sedate lovely people living in harmony with nature, when in reality they were murderous savages using human sacrifice, cannibalism and murder.......and would in two seconds slaughter the people who attack Columbus if given that opportunity, have covered up what the great Admiral was up to.
In the logs, Admiral Columbus would write, of his desire for wealth, but not for himself. Christopher Columbus' driving goal in life was to amass the necessary funds to build Ezekiel's Third Temple, so that Jesus the Christ would return as the Bible predicted.

Zero Hedge: How The World Almost Came To An End At 2PM On September 18

Zero Hedge: How The World Almost Came To An End At 2PM On September 18

On Thursday (Sept 18), at 11am the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the U.S., to the tune of $550 billion was being drawn out in the matter of an hour or two. The Treasury opened up its window to help and pumped a $105 billion in the system and quickly realized that they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldn't be further panic out there.

If they had not done that, their estimation is that by 2pm that afternoon, $5.5 trillion would have been drawn out of the money market system of the U.S., would have collapsed the entire economy of the U.S., and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed. It would have been the end of our economic system and our political system as we know it.

What Is A Quiet Time?

August 21, 2009

Do you know what quiet time is? It is fellowship with a holy God. The reason that some people do not have a quiet time is that they feel uncomfortable. They don’t want to look God in the face because there is unconfessed, unrepented sin in their life.

What did Adam do after he sinned and God came walking in the Garden? Adam fled. Before that, Adam had quiet time alone with God, didn’t he? They conversed, they communed. It was paradise. But when Adam sinned, he did not want to look God in the face.

When Moses went into God’s presence, God said, “Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover He said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.” God cannot be in the presence of sin because He is holy.

If you find a reluctancy to go into the presence of God, there may be unconfessed, unrepented sin in your life. Part of your quiet time is to get your heart clean and pure. Each of us needs to take ourselves by the nap of our necks and confess and repent before we come into God’s holy presence to fellowship. Psalm 66 verse 18 says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”

Thursday Stitch n’ Bitch: I’M TIRED OF BUSH IN MY FACE by Bellamags Autographed Letter Signed

n federal budgetary affairs has summarized:
  • President Bush expanded the federal budget by a historic $700 billion through 2008. President Obama would add another ONE TRILLION.
  • President Bush began a string of expensive financial bailouts. President Obama is accelerating that course.
  • President Bush created a Medicare drug entitlement that will cost an estimated $800 billion in its first decade. President Obama has proposed a $634 BILLION down payment on a new government health care fund.
  • President Bush increased federal education spending 58 percent faster than inflation. President Obama would DOUBLE it.
  • President Bush became the first president to spend 3 percent of GDP on federal anti-poverty programs. President Obama has already increased the spending by 20 PERCENT.
  • President Bush tilted the income tax burden more toward upper-income taxpayers. President Obama would continue that trend.
  • President Bush presided over a $2.5 trillion increase in the public debt through 2008. Setting aside 2009 (for which Presidents Bush and Obama share responsibility for an additional $2.6 trillion in public debt), President Obama’s budget would add $4.9 trillion in public debt from the beginning of 2010 through 2016.
  • President Bush’s tax policy was his only conservative policy and saved the taxpayers 2 trillion dollars.

Quote of the Day

The biggest problem we face today is the abject apathy of people that don't even know they are "We the People" -- Ted Nugent

I heard this statement today in an interview Glenn Beck and even though the Nuge said it as a throw away line in the course of conversation, I believe that it truly encapsulates what is wrong with our country today.

Our Forefathers founded this nation on a truly revolutionary idea; that the PEOPLE were to be the power in charge of our society. That idea has served us in good stead for over two hundred years, but things seem to be falling apart in the last twenty years or so, and Mr. Nugents statement explains it all.

A country founded on the idea that power flows from the governed to the governors can only succeed and flourish if the PEOPLE remain engaged and actively participate in that governance.
Somewhere down the line "We the People" seem to have been infected with the intellectually lazy idea that we can "let the government take of of it" and still remain a free society.
That attitude inevitably leads to tyranny, and at this juncture we have progressed at least (a) quarter half of the way to that foul state.

It is somewhat discouraging to realize that someone who describes himself as "just a guitar player" is one of the most astute voices for freedom in evidence today.

This country needs to awaken from its state of somnambulism , and SOON, or we will wake up in the near future to find we have put ourselves in the bonds of servitude to the State just because we were too damned lazy to do the work and maintain the vigilism necessary to maintain our individual freedom.

Company on Decision to Pull Ads from Beck TV Show: 'We Do Not Want to be Associated with Hateful Speech' | NewsBusters.org: "I fear your media buyers have been lead unwittingly astray by a union-financed disinformation campaign.

I have regularly watched the Glenn Beck Show since its debut on Fox, and for years prior to that on CNN. Apart from a rare comment made by a guest, I have never witnessed anything remotely approaching hate-speech, unless quoting our country's founding fathers somehow qualifies as hate-speech in these Orwellian times.

Because this country still protects free speech, for now, Sargento has every right to choose where and when to advertise. Likewise, as a buyer of 2-3 pounds of packaged cheese per week, I'm free to choose from several brands.

Until such time as Sargento rescinds its misguided cancellation of advertising on Beck's program, I won't be purchasing any of your products.

Remember, honest, hardworking Americans who believe in free speech, even that which we don't agree with, far outnumber the union operatives. Offend us at the peril of your bottom line."

You may feel that bowing to the pressure from ideological groups opposed to this personality is courageous, or you may agree with the ideological groups in part or in whole- but in either circumstance your actions only serve to infer a belief that free speech in the United States is reserved only for the political left. I disagree in toto with your actions. Please reconsider your cowardly act.

Sincerely,

Bob Keyser

Today, I received the following response:

'Dear Mr. Keyser,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Some media reports have created the incorrect impression that Progressive pulled the advertising in response to specific comments made on a show, but that is not the case. We did not buy advertising for the Glenn Beck Program, so when we learned that our ad had aired during the show, we corrected the error. I hope this clarifies the situation.

Sincerely,

Mary O., Progressive Internet Representative'"

Barbara Gannon, your VP of Communications has stated (re: Sargento's decision not to advertise during the Glenn Beck Show on FoxNews) that 'we do not want to be associated with hateful speech used by either liberal or conservative television hosts.' I doubt that anyone at Sargento responsible for this policy has ever listened to the Glenn Beck Show. If you had, you would understand that Mr. Beck engages in hyperbole not hate speech. Company on Decision to Pull Ads from Beck TV Show: 'We Do Not Want to be Associated with Hateful Speech' | NewsBusters.org: "My comment to the Sargento website:

I am extremely disappointed to learn that your company has elected to pull it's advertising from The Glenn Beck Program. Frankly, I am not interested in supporting interests who contribute to the rising crescendo of strong-armed tactics that are being used to silence those of a certain political point of view. If you believe that Beck's opinion is 'hateful' then I believe that no one at your company has bothered to watch or listen to his programs. If you have, then you believe that the exercise of our freedoms to criticize our government is 'hateful' and thus I too am hateful And you've just lost a family of customers who formerly enjoyed your products. Because, unless you rescind this decision, we will NEVER purchase any of your products again.

By the way, please save us both some time and effort in not replying to me with some useless, politically correct, form letter. Reply to my comment directly or don't bother.

Sincerely,
