Curmudgeonly & Skeptical presents Boned Jello: Did you know that the words 'race car' spelled backward says 'race car'?
Did you know that 'eat' is the only word that if you take the 1st letter and move it to the last letter, it spells its past tense 'ate'?
Did you know that if you rearrange the letters in ‘illegal immigrants’ it spells out: ‘Go home you free-loading, benefit-grabbing, kid-producing, violent, non-English speaking assholes and take those other hairy-faced, sandal-wearing, bomb-making, goat-loving, raggedy ass bastards with you.’?

Good point!
The responsibility of the people put in charge, their chief responsibility, is to maintain public order. You cannot have a civilized and prosperous society with civil unrest. Deliberately inviting in these problems, as we see with Merkel in German and the open borders lobbies in America, is a betrayal of the public trust. In another age, the elites would not have to fear these populist parties as the people would have hung the elites before it got to this point.

Kris Kristofferson Biography
Kris Kristofferson Biography: the poet, William Blake, awoke something in him. Blake valued commitment and personal freedom. In the Pomona College mag interview by Michael Balchunas, Kris is quoted as saying, “I studied his (Blake’s) commitment to being an artist, to not being enslaved to another man’s system.

Is Allah of Islam the same as Yahweh of Christianity? | Columbia International University
Is Allah of Islam the same as Yahweh of Christianity? | Columbia International University: Is Allah of Islam the same as Yahweh of Christianity?
As I was passing the State House in Columbia, SC, I noticed
the Confederate flag waving in the breeze behind a large, decorated
Christmas tree. The contrast of symbols caught my attention. To most
people, the tree nominally symbolizes the season of Christmas and the
focus on the first coming of Jesus Christ. For some people any
representation of a spiritual reality on public property is a travesty
against their rights. The flag, however, has become more controversial.
For some, the Confederate flag merely symbolizes a past conflict, for
others it represents a spirit of independence and state’s rights, and
for still others it is an ugly reminder of when one people group
enslaved another. Thus, we have one symbol with several different
meanings.
This is similar to the word “Allah.” For
most Muslims, Allah is the only God and therefore must be the same God
as the one that the Jews and Christians worship. Similarly, for some
Christians, Allah is just another name for the one God of the universe.
For others, however, the Muslim Allah and the biblical Yahweh are
contradictory and cannot refer to the same being, for, they say, “how
can the God of Muhammad be the Father of Jesus Christ?” The question
before us, then, is whether the terms “Allah” and “Yahweh” are just two
names for the same God, or are they referring to different Gods? (And
since there can only be one true God, the ultimate question is, “if they
are different, which one is the true God?”)
Let’s
first look at the origin and meaning for the term “Allah.” Allah
probably comes from the Aramaic compound term “al-ilah,” which means
“the god.” It is a generic term for the highest god of the people, and
in Arabia it was in use for centuries before Muhammad came on the scene.
Apparently it was one of the 360 gods worshipped in the ka’aba in
Mecca, and was the chief god for the Quraysh tribe, which was the tribe
Muhammad belonged to. In the pre-Islamic time, Allah had three
daughters, Al-At, Al-Uzza, and Al-Manat. In Muhammad’s campaign against
polytheism he chose Allah as the one true God and rejected the notion
that Allah could have any daughters or sons. The Allah from the Qur’an,
however, is very different from the Yahweh of the Bible. For one thing,
Allah is a distant, remote being who reveals his will but not himself.
It is impossible to know him in a personal way. In his absolute oneness
there is unity but not trinity, and because of this lack of
relationship, love is not emphasized. Indeed, for the Muslim, Allah
cannot have any associates. In fact, to claim that Jesus is God’s son is
the greatest of all sins in Islam and is known as “shirk.” Allah is
also an arbitrary God and is said to deceive people, especially
unbelievers. In the end, even for the devout Muslim there is no
guarantee of salvation because in his arbitrariness Allah may reject the
believer’s good works and send him to hell. Thus, even if one’s good
works outweighed his bad works salvation is ultimately up to the Will of
Allah, which is arbitrary at best.
When we look at
Yahweh, however, who is the God of the Bible, we see a different kind of
deity. First of all, the name “Yahweh” comes from the time that God
appeared to Moses in the burning bush. At that time God told Moses to
call him “I am that I am,” or in Hebrew, “Yahweh.” It is significant
that Jesus referred to himself as the “I am” in John 8:58. The Jews
realized that Jesus was referring to himself as God and took up stones
to stone him for what they believed was blasphemy. This link between
Jesus in the New Testament and the burning bush in the Old Testament
demonstrates the unity of the one God manifested to both the Jews and
the Christians. This cannot be said of the Muslim God because Muslims
reject the deity of Jesus and therefore reject much of what the New
Testament says about Jesus. We also find that the Bible portrays Yahweh
in contrast to Allah. For example, Allah is considered to be too holy to
have personal relationships with man, but Yahweh is often described as a
loving God interested in our personal struggles. Yahweh is also
depicted as unchanging and One who assures the salvation of the
faithful. Finally, because there is unity in the Trinity with the one
God also being three persons, God can be described as the Father of
Jesus.
Some scholars want to emphasize the
similarities between Yahweh and Allah, and point to a common belief in a
monotheistic God who is Creator of all things, omnipotent and merciful.
Both religions also claim that God has sent prophets to reveal His will
and produce scriptures to guide our lives. However, Allah and Yahweh
cannot refer to the same person for the following reasons. First of all,
their attributes are different. In Allah’s monadic oneness his
attributes stem from his powerful Will which, because it provides no
basis for relationship, often promotes capriciousness. Also, since his
power is more important than his other attributes, there is an unequal
emphasis on power over his other attributes. In the end, a follower
cannot know God or even be sure of the consistency of his attributes. On
the other hand, because Yahweh is by nature a triune unity his
attributes stem from his nature. The eternal relationship within the
Trinity promotes love within the Godhead and extends to his creation.
Also, since his attributes are based on his unchanging nature rather
than his powerful will, all his attributes are equal and promote
trustworthiness rather than capriciousness. This means that believers
can know God and be sure of his attributes. Second, Christians
understand the nature of God to be triune (Father, Son and Holy Spirit),
which is the only way that Jesus Christ, as the second person of the
Trinity, could die on the cross to pay for our sins. If Jesus were not
God himself, then his death on the cross would be meaningless. However,
Muslims deny that Jesus died on the cross and they reject the belief in
his resurrection from the dead. Only a triune God, defined as one
essence and three persons, could become incarnate and still remain God
of the universe, and yet this is the God that Muslims reject. For them,
Jesus cannot be God nor can God be a Father, for he cannot have a son.
Therefore, if Muslims reject God as the Father of Jesus, then Allah
cannot be the same as the God of the Bible.
But wait a
minute, some will say. What about the Arabic Christians who call the
God of the Bible “Allah”? Doesn’t this illustrate the fact that Allah
and Yahweh are referring to the same God? Actually, when the Arabic
Christians refer to “Allah” in their translation of the Bible, they
believe that “Allah” is the father of Jesus and they believe that
“Allah” is triune. Therefore, the Allah of the Arabic Christians cannot
be the same Allah of the Muslims! This semantic [shibboleth]
strangulation can be cleared up if we remember that words have both a
denotative and a connotative meaning. Denotation refers to a dictionary
definition, so it would be correct to say that Yahweh and Allah both
refer to the concept of God, especially for their respective language
groups. However, the connotation is determined by what a person
conceives about the object of that word. For example, an Arab Christian
may still use the word “Allah” to denote God, but his understanding of
that term would be starkly different from a Muslim, for the Christian
would recognize that Jesus Christ is God (Allah) whereas the Muslim
would never consider that connotation. Thus, denotatively the word
“allah” merely refers to “god, deity, etc.” However, we understand the
denotative use by our connotative presuppositions. Therefore, “Allah”
for the Muslim cannot be reconciled with the “Jesus is Allah” of the
Arabic Christians. There is still a world of difference between the
content of the word (connotation), even if the denotation is the same.
Without this very important distinction made when we refer to “Allah”
and “God” (Yahweh), a lot of Christians will be confused.
After
comparing the Allah of the Qur’an and the Yahweh of the Bible, it
should be apparent that they could not be referring to the same God.
Either the Muslim Allah is the true God or the Christian Yahweh is the
true God, or neither is true. As the Law of non-Contradiction teaches,
they both cannot be true. One thing should be sure, though, the God of
Muhammad cannot be the Father of Jesus.

AMERICAN DIGEST: Comment on Against Compassion
AMERICAN DIGEST: Comment on Against Compassion: Jesus fed the hungry, and even more powerfully healed the lame and blind, and most importantly gave all, that poor beggars such as we might find salvation.
I don't have a lot. I give what I can as the spirit moves me. When I do, it brings me closer to the Lord, because I know that nothing of this physical existence matters. Only the spiritual will remain in the end, and I need to spread all the love that I can. If some poor soul tricks me, well the sin is his not mine, and his is a poor soul indeed. I'm richer, because I still get to keep the love I shared.

AMERICAN DIGEST: Comment on Against Compassion: Out here in the urban jungle of Jakarta
Out here in the urban jungle of Jakarta, it's easy to find all the
beggars you could want, some of them as young as 5. Women with babies,
too, as well as the occasional amputee or street singer. You can give
them quartas (about 2500 rupiah) if that makes you feel good and salves
your conscience. Problem is, the kids and women and amputees will only
see a small fraction of the money. Look more closely at the major
intersections and traffic circles where the beggars congregate. See
him? No, over there, sitting next to the motorcycle taxi stand. Yeah,
him, the tough-looking guy keeping a close eye on the action. That's
the beggars' "handler", who works for the local "preman" or godfather.
That's the organized crime boss who runs groups of beggars (who really
are poor) to increase his own bottom line. He'll also do really
despicable things like take babies from their mothers and give them to
other women to hold while begging, to increase the sympathy factor.
Sometimes, these women will pinch the kids--hard--in order to make them
cry and generate even more sympathy. In return, the street kids and the
rest get enough food and money to survive, barely. Westerners are
viewed as particularly attractive targets, because we're all "rich",
suckers for suffering kids, and most don't know how the system works.
But what some other long-term residents and I have started to do is to
carry around some local snacks that we can give out when caught at some
of the interminable traffic lights (and traffic jams) they have around
here. The snacks are fairly nutritious, the women and kids like them,
and, unlike money, they're worthless to the thugs. That's life in the
big city out here.

Hillary Clinton: I sparred with Muhammad Ali — The Dandy Goat
Hillary Clinton: I sparred with Muhammad Ali — The Dandy Goat
Presumptive
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has paid tribute to
boxing legend Muhammad Ali, recalling how she sparred with the
three-time world champion in the early 1970s.
“I remember back in 1970 when the
Nixon administration had banned him from boxing. I would often spar with
him to keep him fresh, you know, keep him on his toes,” Clinton
recalled.
And that wasn’t the only Clinton family connection to the man known as “The Greatest” to fans around the world.
“My daughter Chelsea was an au pair to his children at the same time. They used to call her mammy,” said Clinton.
“I remember the day Martin Luther
King, Jr. was shot. I was eating fried chicken and watermelon with
Muhammad’s mother. She wept uncontrollably into my shoulder. I still
have that tear-stained dress.”
“And I just remembered that my middle
name is Muhammad and that name was actually given to me by my parents
in homage to Mr. Ali,” Clinton went on.
“After all, what nobler calling could
an African-American have than to beat the crap out of another
African-American for the amusement of white people, giving
themselves permanent brain damage,” said Clinton.
“Another thing I just remembered,”
said Clinton, “is that on 9/11 when I went into the South Tower to
rescue Chelsea, Muhammad was there with me, and he took my hand and led
me up those 398 floors.”
Clinton continued: “Muhammad, if he
could have spoken coherently in the last few years of his life, would
have said, ’You run girl.’ And you know what? That hot sauce I keep in
my purse? It’s Muhammed Ali’s own recipe that I created with him when we
were lovers.”

Some are still so terrifying that she has difficuly relating them; i.e. One of her patients, a nice man, near death, suddenly jumped out of his bed. The look on his face was hideous, and he "hissed," then made nightmarish guttural noises before throwing his arms in the air, swatting away, yelling "OKAY I'M COMING!" And dropped dead.

AMERICAN DIGEST: Comment on What Pisses Me Off About The Orlando Terrorist Attack:
One article indicates that this perp was super vetted and licensed to use firearms by the State of Florida. If the politicians got their ultimate firearms confiscation wet dream, this guy, who worked under a DHS contract, would still be armed.
Furthermore, his coworker quit because of the toxic work environment caused by his constant mouthing off about potentially killing all blacks. The company refused to discipline the very important Muslim employee.
Now, I don't know about you, but I am incredulous that this nut could kill, with small arms, 50 victims, and wound about the same number, all by himself. That is almost a miracle. The USMC will be studying this event for practical reasons for decades to come. I see now that he might have somehow missed or wounded the door guard, then had three hours of freedom to slaughter his victims before the SWAT team arrived. He got so bored with killing, he called 911 to make sure his motives were recorded.

Curmudgeonly & Skeptical presents Boned Jello: their two five-year-old boys were getting acquainted.
"My name is Joshua. What is yours?" asked the first boy.
"Adam," replied the second.
"My daddy is a doctor. What does your daddy do for a living?" asked Joshua.
Adam proudly replied, "My daddy is a lawyer."
"Honest??" asked Joshua.
"No, just the regular kind." replied Adam.

The law in America no longer confines itself to its proper functions as it has become the chief weapon of injustice acting in direct opposition to its own purpose. As the French classical economist Frederic Bastiat noted in his famous essay The Law, “It has been used to destroy its own objective. It has been applied to annihilating the justice that it was supposed to maintain; to limiting and destroying rights which its real purpose was to respect.” Bastiat continues, “The law has placed the collective force at the disposal of the unscrupulous who wish, without risk, to exploit the person, liberty, and property of others. It has converted plunder into a right, in order to protect plunder. And it has converted lawful defense into a crime, in order to punish lawful defense.”

I'm confused on the difference between transvestite, transgendered, transexual, etc? | Yahoo Answers
I'm confused on the difference between transvestite, transgendered, transexual, etc? | Yahoo Answers:
I can understand your confusion because many people will use these terms interchangably, not realizing the fact that there are noticeable distinctions between the two. Also, people who identify with such labels will also draw major division lines between themselves and the other groups and can even be downright hostile towards each other. The definitions I use are more or less in line with the American Psychological Association's website.
Transgender is an umbrella term that describes someone whose gender identity or expression is different from that of their birth sex. Transgender includes but isn't limited to crossdressing/transvestism, genderqueer, transgenderist, androgyny, transsexual, etc. It is a spectrum and not a "one-size-fits-all" category. Each individual transgender identity has some traits that are common to anybody who is transgendered, but at the same time there are traits that makes each transgendered identity unique of themselves.
Transvestism, alternatively crossdressing, describes somebody who wears the clothing or takes up the appearance of the opposite sex. While both men and women can in theory be transvestites, the term is almost exclusively used with men who dress as women. Transvestites vary greatly in how far they take their dressing and how often they do it. Even though crossdressing can be and is a sexual fetish for some men, a classic transvestite is someone who simply expresses a feminine component of their personality by the act of crossdressing. While both transvestite and crossdresser mean the exact same thing, transvestite at least in America can carry a negative connotation for some people because if the term's associaton with being a sexual pervert as well as other transgender identities that a transvestite doesn't want to be identified as.
Transsexual is transgender identity where the person who is born complete mismatch between their gender identity and their birth sex. This is because classic transsexualism is a neurological intersex condition that is hardwired into their brain. The basic sign that one is transsexual is Gender Dysphoria (or Gender Identity Disorder), where one persistently identifies as the opposite gender of their birth sex and is uncomfortable with living as their birth sex. What makes transsexuals unique among the transgendered community is that the only proven method to allow a transsexual to have a quality life where they don't suffer from Gender Dysphoria is to allow them to medically transition from their birth sex to the sex that matches up with their gender identity. This is in contrast to other transgender identities where the individual is happy with less permanent changes. Transitioning is never taken lightly and involves rigorous psychological counseling to ensure the person would benefit from transitioning, hormone replacement therapy under the close supervision from a doctor, and living as their target sex for at least a year before SRS is allowed. Transsexuals sometimes do not go through SRS, primarily because of health or financial reasons. This is especially so with Female to Male transsexuals, because full SRS for them is extremely expensive, has a lot of imperfections, and can cause more health complications than those for Male to Female transsexuals.
Regardless of which gender identity one falls into, I believe that gender is a much more fluid concept than being either masculine or feminine, male or female. Even the most masculine of men have some feminine qualities to him, and vice versa for the most feminine of women. The same concept for gender in general holds true for transgender people. That is why it disheartens me when I see hardline transsexuals being hostile to and drawing divisions between themselves and the rest of the transgendered community, particularly transvestites. Of course I have seen the same hold true for a lot of hardline transvestites who hold extreme hostility towards transsexuals. They dwell on their differences so much that they neglect to see a lot of their similarities they have common struggles they go through.
I am a man who is a crossdresser (or transvestite). I have gravitated towards crossdressing since I was a young kid because I like the feminine expression it gives me. Like most men who are crossdressers, I am heterosexual and wouldn't want to give up being physicaly male or my masculine traits. Although I do crossdress quite a bit, I rarely take it to where I present as a complete female. I attend a transgender support group where all gender identities and expressions are welcome and come together to share their experiences and support one another.

Glory Hole, Glory Hole, Hallelujah! - Taki's Magazine
Glory Hole, Glory Hole, Hallelujah! - Taki's Magazine: let’s get our terms straight. We’re not talking about “transgender people” being able to use a bathroom that corresponds to the sex of the person they’ve “transitioned” to. We’re not talking about Caitlyn Jenner or Christine Jorgensen. We’re talking about biological men being allowed to use women’s facilities based merely on the fact that they “believe” they’re a woman “on the inside.” The public associates the word “transgender” with people who have undergone some type of procedure, some type of transformation. That obfuscation is on purpose; let’s not play into it. We’re talking about belief, not physical state. If a man claims to think he’s a woman, he must be treated as such. He can be 6 foot 5 with a lumberjack beard and a bulging pendulous dirlywanger, and yet he is magically a woman in the eyes of the law by virtue of his belief alone.

Lots of people tell me I'm self-centered and egotistical. But enough about them.
Rather than just talk about me, let's talk about you. What do you think of me?
I've been told that I'm condescending. That means that I talk down to people.
If there's anyone more self-absorbed and less-concerned about his surroundings than I am, I certainly haven't noticed.
And anyone who thinks I'm confrontational should come and say that to my face.

This man left his pregnant lover...and then received apostcard nine months later:
HUMOR
Life offers us many surprises. Of course, we may have our own plans, and we often carry them out, but most people know that the unexpected is always a part of our lives. And if it’s our love lives we’re talking about, then it almost entirely consists of such unexpectedness.
Once, a married man had an Italian lover over the course of several years, and one day she told him she was pregnant.
The man didn’t feel like tarnishing his reputation and destroying his years-long marriage, so he asked his lover if she could go back to Italy to give birth to the child in secret in exchange for a large sum of money. He also promised to provide her with funds until the child turned eighteen.
The woman agreed, and then asked him how he would know that the child had been born. To prevent any possible publicity, he asked her to send him a postcard saying ’Spaghetti’ when the time came. After some time, they bid each other goodbye, and she returned to Italy.
Then almost nine months passed...
One night, when the man came home, his wife met him with a surprised look in her eyes. ’Honey,’ she said, ’We got a very weird postcard today.’
’That’s interesting,’ he replied. ’Let me see it.’
His wife brought him the card and watched for his reaction. The man, having read a few lines, first went deathly pale, and then fainted. His spouse rushed to help him, and the postcard fell to the floor.
All it said was this: ’Spaghetti, spaghetti, spaghetti, spaghetti, spaghetti. Three with meat balls, two without them. Please send more sauce...’

"For what remains to us, nowadays, of the ancient ways on which the commonwealth, we are told, was founded? We see them so lost in oblivion that they are not merely neglected, but quite forgot. And what am I to say of the men? For our customs have perished for want of men to stand by them, and we are now called to an account, so that we stand impeached like men accused of capital crimes, compelled to plead our own cause. Through our vices, rather than from happenstance, we retain the word “republic” long after we have lost the reality. ” – Cicero, De Re Publica

Hillary Clinton personifies delusion
Insecure, transparently phony, privately nasty, and unlikable, she has no political gifts other than her marriage.
Her
performance since law school has ranged from, at best, undistinguished,
to a disastrous tenure as Secretary of State. She embraced foreign
interventionism and regime change that had clearly failed in Afghanistan
and Iraq, rebranding it as a “Responsibility to Protect.” At Clinton’s
behest, the people of Libya were “protected” out of Muammar Gaddafi’s
dictatorship and into the bloody chaos of a failed state and new Islamic
State stronghold. She blessed arms shipments from Libya to Syria to
help US-backed rebels foment a revolution similar to the one that had
failed in Libya. Her characterization of Vladimir Putin as Hitler set up
a cardboard devil that prevented her from understanding either the
point of view of the other major nuclear power’s leader or the
subtleties of one of the US’s most important international
relationships. One expects far better from America’s chief diplomat. Running the Table, by Robert Gore | STRAIGHT LINE LOGIC

The Top 40: Comment on I have not endorsed Mr. Trump.:
Pournelle writes:
Under Capitalism, the rich become powerful.
Under Socialism, the powerful become rich.
Under Socialism, government employees become powerful.
That's the central problem. But there's one big difference between rich capitalists, and powerful government bureaucrats: the rich eventually die off, and taxes eat up a big portion of their estates. By the 3rd generation, their grandkids are right back in the middle class – or worse. Also, in a free market anyone can get rich, or at least prosper.
On the other hand, a Socialist bureaucracy never dies. It is nameless, faceless, constantly growing, and completely unaccountable (how many EPA heads rolled when they deliberately detroyed the beautiful Animas river? None. Not even a reprimand was issued!)
One of Karl Marx' fears was of an indestructible, immortal, and all-powerful bureaucracy, accountable to only a very select few.
That's what we're seeing. That's the situation in the EU now. Look up some of Nigel Farage's videos. He calls them on it, but they don't care. He bluntly asked the EU President, "Who elected you?" They don't answer because they don't care. They have total (unelected) power.
Now, imagine that you're an EU serf/taxpayer with a grievance. Suppose you can show, chapter and verse, that the EU is breaking its own laws and causing you immense grief. Do you think you will get recourse?
Not a chance. The bureaucracy closes ranks, and the average peon is totally screwed.
And that's what's happening here. But amazingly, there are fools who still push for a world government! As George Orwell said, if that happens, those thugs will have their boot on your face... "...for ever."
His interviewer asked what could be done about that? Orwell's answer: "Don't let them do it." But how to stop them, he didn't say.
It's up to each of us in our own way, no?

The DMV is the boilerplate template for all the other facets of gov't.
ALL of them.
Never forget it.
You are better than them, as long as you believe you are.
Something like 80% of all gov't employees are *minorities* and 80% of them are wimminz.
Of the remaining 20%, 80% of them are wimminz.
Is it any wonder the gov't is like it is?
~ imagine the bacterial habitat under them 3" purple fingernails ~
~ ever smelled dreadlocks as they waddled past? like sewage and used axle grease in an unvented basement ~

Up the street from my apartment, at the intersection of my small street
with the main road, there sat an old beggar with a long white beard and
longer white hair. Every day, monsoon or blazing sun, he was there. I
would pass him every day averting my eyes. He was just one more of
many.
One day, my cook came to me horrified--"you must come right now with
me--and bring money." She dragged me down the block first to the
coconut salesman, then to the center of the crossroad (to break the
coconut, of course), and then to the foot of the beggar.
"He's a good man," she said. "He just does not know. I will teach him. Please forgive him."
Meanwhile, a crowd had gathered about. They were apparently most
interested in the transaction and seemed to approve of what my cook was
saying.
She then instructed me to empty my pockets, including the bedes, in
front of the beggar, to the wholehearted approval of the audience, and
then she dragged me from the corner.
"The beggar chats everyday about the welfare of everyone on HIS
block. He knows who gives, who does not give, and who should give but
doesn't. For a while now, he has been saying that you could give at
least a few paisa or an orange. He is YOUR beggar. Do not neglect him
in the future."
I give something to them all everyday. Before Shabbat, I also give some oranges. Make no mistake--God listens to their cries.
