“…the Obama administration is arming his DHS for war…” Says Retired Army Captain | The D.C. Clothesline
Today retired Army Captain Terry M. Hestilow shared a copy of a letter to Texas Senator Jim Cornyn via his Facebook page. This is a very strong letter that holds nothing back and I thought everyone should see it. Below is a verbatim copy of the letter.
The Honorable Senator John Cornyn, State of TexasUnited States Senate517 Hart Senate Office BuildingWashington, D.C. 20510Re: Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and that agencies preparation for war against citizens of the United States of America.
Dear Senator Cornyn,
It is with gravest concern that I write to you today concerning the recent appropriation of weapons by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that can only be understood as a bold threat of war by that agency, and the Obama administration, against the citizens of the United States of America. To date, DHS has been unwilling to provide to you, the elected representatives of the People, justification for recent purchases of almost 3,000 mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) armored personnel carriers, 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition (with associated weapons), and other weapons systems, when, in fact, the DHS has no war mission or war making authority within the limits of the United States of America.
Significant is the fact that at the same time the Obama administration is arming his DHS for war within the limits of the United States against the People of the United States in accordance with his 2008 campaign speech claiming,
“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve gotta (sic) have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded [as the United States military]”–Candidate Barack Obama, 2008.
the Obama administration is deliberately defunding, overextending, and hollowing the Department of Defense; the only legitimate agency of the U.S. government with a war mission.
This act of the Obama administration stands as a glaring threat of war against our nation’s citizens! This act of the Obama administration can only be understood as a tyrannical threat against the Constitution of the United States of America! If left unresolved, the peace loving citizens who have sworn to defend the United States Constitution “against all enemies, both foreign and domestic” are left no option except to prepare to defend themselves, and the U.S. Constitution, against this Administration’s “coup” against the People and the foundations of liberty fought for and defended for the past 238 years. We have no choice if we honor our oaths.
The only proper response to this threat against the American people is for the representatives of the People, the members of the U.S. House and Senate, to demand in clear terms that the Administration cannot ignore, that the Department of Homeland Security immediately surrender their newly appropriated weapons of war to the Department of Defense (DoD). Further, since the DHS has assumed a position in the Administration to enforce the tyrannical acts of this president against the People of the United States against the limits of the United States Constitution, it remains for the United States Congress to exercise its limiting power in the balancing of powers established by our founding fathers, to disestablish and dissolve the DHS as soon as possible. One needs only to look to the rise of Adolf Hitler, and his associated DHS organizations, the SA and the SS, of 1932-1934, to see the outcome of allowing an agency of government this kind of control over the free citizens of a nation. The people of Germany could not have imagined, until it was too late, the danger of allowing a tyrant this kind of power. We must not be so naïve as to think it will not happen to us as well if we remain passive toward this power grab by the Marxist Obama administration!
Finally, for more than two centuries the nation has lived in peace at home because of the protections of our legitimate military and the many appropriate state and federal law enforcement agencies, supported by Constitutional courts. We stand today at a cross-road. Will we allow this present Administration to overthrow our United States Constitution and its legal processes to amend injustices, or, will we honor our obligations to defend the Constitution against a “domestic” enemy? Our Constitution lays out the proper methods of resolving our differences; and it does not include its overthrow by a rogue agency of a Marxist leadership at home. You, sir, are our constitutionally elected agent to defend our Constitution at home. We are counting upon you. We remain aware, however, of this present threat and will not expose ourselves as an easy prey to the authors of the destruction of our nation.
I know that this letter demands much of you. We elected you because we, the citizens of the State of Texas, believe that you are up to the task at hand and will, against all threats, honor your oath and office. We are also writing to your fellow members of the House and Senate to stand in integrity with the Constitution and against this present threat by the Obama administration and his DHS.
We refuse to surrender our Constitution or our nation!
Resolved,
Captain Terry M. HestilowUnited States Army, RetiredFort Worth, TexasMarch 23, 2013

The Adventures of Shylock Holmes
The Adventures of Shylock Holmes SALMONELLA
Since the late 1990’s British farmers have been vaccinating hens against salmonella following a crisis that sickened thousands of people who had consumed infected eggs. Amazingly, this measure has virtually wiped out the health threat in Britain. In 1997, there were 14,771 reported cases of salmonella poisoning there, by 2009 this had dropped to just 581 cases. About 90 percent of British eggs now come from vaccinated hens – it’s required for producers who want to belong to the Lion scheme. The remaining 10 percent come from very small farmers who don’t sell to major retailers.
In contrast, there is no such requirement for commercial hens in the US. Consequently, according to FDA data, there are about 142,000 illnesses every year caused by consuming eggs contaminated by the most common strain of salmonella. Only about one-third of farmers here choose to inoculate their flocks. Farmers cite cost as the main reason not to opt for vaccination –FDA estimates say it would cost about 14 cents a bird. The average hen produces about 260 eggs over the course of her lifetime.Wait, what? You mean that for 0.05 cents per egg, you can virtually eliminate salmonella poisoning? And this isn't being done in the US, because US farmers have correctly estimated that ignorant consumers aren't savvy enough to insist on this purchase?

Tax Avoidance
the great Lysander Spooner:
Tax Avoidance
the great Lysander Spooner:
All political power, so called, rests practically upon this matter of money. Any number of scoundrels, having money enough to start with, can establish themselves as a "government"; because, with money, they can hire soldiers, and with soldiers extort more money; and also compel general obedience to their will. It is with government, as Caesar said it was in war, that money and soldiers mutually supported each other; that with money he could hire soldiers, and with soldiers extort money. So these villains, who call themselves governments, well understand that their power rests primarily upon money. With money they can hire soldiers, and with soldiers extort money. And, when their authority is denied, the first use they always make of money, is to hire soldiers to kill or subdue all who refuse them more money.
For this reason, whoever desires liberty, should understand these vital facts, viz.: 1. That every man who puts money into the hands of a "government" (so called), puts into its hands a sword which will be used against him, to extort more money from him, and also to keep him in subjection to its arbitrary will. 2. That those who will take his money, without his consent, in the first place, will use it for his further robbery and enslavement, if he presumes to resist their demands in the future. 3. That it is a perfect absurdity to suppose that any body of men would ever take a man's money without his consent, for any such object as they profess to take it for, viz., that of protecting him; for why should they wish to protect him, if he does not wish them to do so? To suppose that they would do so, is just as absurd as it would be to suppose that they would take his money without his consent, for the purpose of buying food or clothing for him, when he did not want it. 4. If a man wants "protection," he is competent to make his own bargains for it; and nobody has any occasion to rob him, in order to "protect" him against his will. 5. That the only security men can have for their political liberty, consists in their keeping their money in their own pockets, until they have assurances, perfectly satisfactory to themselves, that it will be used as they wish it to be used, for their benefit, and not for their injury. 6. That no government, so called, can reasonably be trusted for a moment, or reasonably be supposed to have honest purposes in view, any longer than it depends wholly upon voluntary support.Quite so.

Patterico's Pontifications
Patterico's Pontifications: a post about a WSJ review of the largest taxpayers.
To identify the companies that pay the most taxes, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed corporate tax payments for the top 150 companies by revenue. … These are the companies paying the most in taxes:
1. ExxonMobil
• Income tax expense: $31.05 billion
• Earnings before taxes: $78.73 billion
• Revenue: $428.38 billion
•1-year share price change: 6.56%
• Industry: Oil and gas …
2. Chevron
• Income tax expense: $20.00 billion
• Earnings before taxes: $46.33 billion
• Revenue: $222.58 billion
• 1-year share price change: 9.52%
• Industry: Oil and gas
Exxon paid approx 39% of of their profits in taxes, which had a primary negative impact on women, children, elderly, and minorities, with an extraordinarily obscene profit margin of 11%.
Chevron paid approx 43% of their ill-gotten evil profits in taxes, with a profit margin of a grotesque 11% profit margin.
They should be jailed for profiteering on the backs on the American people.

Where We Are, Where We're Heading (2013) - The annual 2013 Ticker
Deconstructing Lyin' Ryan (Again)
Ok, now we have the document.
I want to focus your attention in one place, and only one place -- because it's the only place that matters.
Social Security has expanded at a rate of about 6% annually over the last 30 years. That's fairly close. But Medicare and Medicaid are not; the expansion from 1980 to today has been at a average compounded rate of approximately 9% and full-charge hospital bills are currently expanding at 10% a year and have been for the last several years.
Note carefully that the latter is not the government's cost, it's the cost in the broad economy!

Leave the net interest aside as that's a consequence of the two pieces directly under it.
Note that Social Security, after rising for a few years, begins to plateau and in fact starts to fall after about 2030. That's because the Boomers begin to pass on.
The medical explosion is not due to the boomers. It is due to the underlying systemic expansion of cost that in turn is driven by monopoly practices and cost-shifting, mostly to people in the United States.
A particularly outrageous but by no means isolated example is the scorpion antivenom that I wrote about -- made in Mexico for $100/dose and north of $35,000 a dose when administered in a US hospital. That's a mark-up of more than 350 times cost!
But it gets worse. Ryan claims that there's a "raid" on the Medicare "trust fund." He's lying.
Last year Medicare took in $201 billion in tax revenues. But between Medicare and Medicaid the Federal government spent just north of one trillion dollars, or five times what it took in. There is no "trust fund" to raid when you are spending five times the amount you collected in taxes. Any such assertion is a bald lie.
Worse, the attempted shift of Medicaid to the states will bankrupt all of them within five years. That's the arithmetic -- there is no state in the union that can shoulder that expense.
The only solution is to collapse the medical cost structure. It's politically damnable but it has to be done, and done now. Any budget proposal that doesn't have this as its centerpiece is un-serious and unworthy of consideration as it is an open, notorious and public fraud.
A beginning point for this could come in the form of a single two-paragraph law that requires that all health providers publish a price list and charge everyone the same price, irrespective of how they pay. This would make direct comparison of cost possible, and while a minority of care is paid in cash the fact remains that the cash customers would prefer competent care at a lower price over one that is five or ten times as expensive, as is often the case now. This would immediately collapse the high-cost outlier providers, forcing them to either cut that crap out or remove them from the market.
The second step is to remove both EMTALA and all anti-trust protection from the entire medical industry. And the third is to require insurance companies to actually sell insurance -- once the insured-against event happens you no longer have to pay anything -- the company pays you, unlike the present system where you can be co-billed for ridiculous amounts of money and must maintain premium payments or worse, are subject to cancellation even though you paid in for the unexpected and unlikely adverse event!
Ryan's budget also assumes GDP growth of more than 5% annually over the next ten years with no recessions, a feat that has never been achieved in the post-WWII era according to our government's own data. The use of the word "cut" in a budget that grows spending by 3.5% compounded annually is an outrageous lie as well.
But while railing against this is appropriate and necessary, none of it will matter if we don't deal with the medical problem now.
Within approximately two years Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and interest payments will consume all tax receipts. At some point before that happens the markets are nearly-certain to deduce that we are not serious about attending to the budgetary imbalance as we're then borrowing to pay the light bill in the Capitol, say much less anything important like Defense.
When, not if, that recognition occurs there is literally nothing that The Fed or the Government will be able to do about the ensuing flight from assets in this country, as the only remaining step available to the government to fund this escalation of spending will be outright confiscation of some form.
As I have no indication at present that anyone on The Hill will even discuss the fundamental arithmetic that lays behind this irrefutable truth, say much less reduce it to legislative language and introduce it as a bill despite several years of attempting to do so, I am forced to recommend that you prepare for the worst.
I hereby withdraw my formerly-expressed guarded optimism.
I want to focus your attention in one place, and only one place -- because it's the only place that matters.
In the next decade, Social Security will grow at an annual average of 5.8 percent. Medicare will grow at 6.2 percent. And Medicaid—thanks in part to its expansion under the health-care law—will grow at an astounding 9.9 percent. All of these programs are growing substantially faster than the economy.....Good luck on those astoundingly optimistic figures.

If it does not well then tax receipts will fall too, and the balance problem remains the same. ---------- I don't care if it makes sense -- only if it makes money. -- Me Bank (n): See scam, fraud and theft. I also figured we'd have a currency event by that year as well (if not sooner). All those dollars could come home to roost rather suddenly if the rest of the world gives us the finger, or if they collapse before we do. Ryan is such a ridiculous liar. I saw him on tv this weekend and I couldn't even watch .. the lies were so bad. I'd love to see Karl get on national TV and just pummel these morons into dust... make them admit they're wrong and that the math will win. You're in a unique position to garner attention when you write, the rest of us are usually systematically ignored when we write our CONgress Members. I would think from time to time they intentionally feed you something in the hopes that you run with it. No? Thanks. Any country where the corruption of government and law has reached the point the US is in today will not be fixed by eliminating the biggest Ponzi.
