Woodpile Report

Woodpile Report: Sovereign Man tells us how automated index funds are leading to a buy-sell market rather than a trading market and warns of an automated, self-reinforcing cascade in a downturn. Key data:

37% of the S&P 500 stocks are now passively managed index funds, meaning computerized trading.
Vanguard has $3 trillion in index funds and owns 6.8% of the S&P 500.
BlackRock has $4.3 trillion in index funds.

James Rawles at Survival Blog has a warning for preppers:

The P/E ratio of the Dow Jones stocks now stands above 31 to 1. There have only been two times since the early 1880s that U.S. stocks have been so grossly overbought: Just before 1929 stock market crash and just before the 2000 “dot.com” bubble implosion. Consider this an earnest stock market crash warning.

Housing for WWII veterans attending OU | News | normantranscript.com: Sooner City was located between Jenkins and Asp avenues and 1st and 4th streets, on land presently occupied by the Huston-Huffman Fitness Center. The "Hal Niemann Field" monolith on Jenkins at 3rd Street marks the east entrance to the former Quonset-hut complex.

South Base barracks were also used for student housing in those days.
