Hardest addiction to break

I think I've done my share of drugs. Some i didn't care for.
Crack is whack and made me feel like a weirdo the first time I did it. But, I gave it a few chances. Always felt like a weirdo so no go on being a crackhead.
Cocaine was fun for a little while. It was my mother who stopped me from that. I was high as shit and stood with her in the kitchen. She burst into tears and said “I think your brother is doing cocaine!” Her heart was broken. But what if she knew her boyfriend was buying from my brother? What if she knew her baby girl was on the shit too? Haven't touched it much since that day some, I dunno, 30 years?
Meth took me down hard and fast. The cleverness I felt. The power of thinking I knew every fucking thing there is to know sucked me right in. Death was looming though, I knew it was coming. Meth makes you feel like you have some secret powers to know things. This time, it was right. I stopped just to focus. You don't focus on meth. You're just hot mess thinking no one suspects your out of your fucking mind high. A few months later…death reared it's ugly head. It was coming for my dad and I couldn't be high anymore. He needed me more than I needed meth. He was gone less than a year later. It only reiterated my need to stay away from meth. That shit had me at the first sniff.
Cigarettes…..they got me and have had me for decades. If I even consider quitting I start chain smoking. Uggg. Soon, I told myself. I've walked away from some hardcore shit not looking back. Booze, crack, coke, meth ..but these frigging smokes have me hemmed up something fierce.
